Undercolour Removal - Technique of making colour separations such that the amount of cyan, magenta and yellow ink is reduced in midtone and shadow areas while the amount of black is increased. Abbreviated UCR.

Universal Copyright Convention (UCC)
- gives protection to authors or originators of text, photographs or illustrations etc, to prevent use without permission or acknowledgment. The publication should carry the copyright mark c, the name of the originator and the year of publication.

Up - printing two or three up means printing multiple copies of the same image on the same sheet.

UV coating - liquid laminate bonded and cured with ultraviolet light. Environmentally friendly.
